I found this to be a great exercise to get you flowing in a prophetic word for someone. Whatever comes to mind just flow with it-don’t worry about answering all 4 questions if one prompts you enough to begin writing.
Read Luke 10:38-42
1) What is the one thing your friend needs to do at this time?
2) What specific encouragement can you give?
3) How would you give a word that would encourage your friend?
4) What particular promise do you sense that the Lord wants to release into this person’s life at this time?
Write the word down on a card and give it to the person the Holy Spirit puts on your heart.
Here is an practice example I came up with:
All you need to do right now is sit at Jesus’ feet. You will hear a voice behind you saying, “This is the way, walk in it.” You shall know the truth and the truth will set you free.
You have chosen the best thing to do: to sit in My presence and it won’t be taken from you. One word from Me can change your whole situation! Be still and know that I am God-I have you and all that concerns you in My hand! Hebrews 10:16 “This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts and I will write them on their minds.” God will lead you by His Spirit and by hearing his voice.
