I was looking through some old dreams and thought it was a good time to bring a few to my blog this month. We would love for you to send a dream you have had and see if we could help shed any light on it.
I have always been fascinated with the concept of “death to self.” In reality, we who have been baptized, have all “died” with Christ to our old nature and are raised to new life through him. We all want to transcend this world and its troubles and “live” in the values of his kingdom. See dreams below:
4-21-2000 Dream
Alan and I had a booth at Restoration Church and were selling mangoes. We’d cut off small chunks of fruit for people to sample. It was unbelievably sweet. Out of this world. Our message was the “old” man goes, the new comes.
Interpretation:
restoration-redeems and restores things lost
play on words-mangoes – old man- goes
“selling” mangoes or giving out this message
gave out this fruit in increments-fruit of spirit
gradual separation from things of the world
process of dying to our old nature, living for Christ
“If any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things are passed away; behold, all things become new” (2 Cor. 5:17).
2nd scene
I met an old man at a used car dealership. He had been down on his luck and I wanted to help him find a newer car. After looking around, I told him I couldn’t buy the newer car after all as I didn’t have the means to do it. The agent with him insisted I at least buy this rusted old Buick but I told her I could not.
Interpretation:
The “old” man, Adamic nature, controlled by the sinful nature, needs a new car-or mode of transportation/expression. The car condition represents the man. I wanted to help but realized this new divine nature cannot be bought by me but only Jesus can make this man new. This agent would like to fix up an old car and salvage the way he is now. We can’t fix up the old man but become a whole new creation. He needs a whole new car provided by salvation and way to live by the spirit and renewed mind. (Eph. 4:22-24)
Dream 5-6-09
The murderer from the movie “No Country for Old Men” was following me and wanting to kill me. I kept ahead alluding him.
Interp:
The enemy wants to kill you and I and our testimony because we are living in the new country-God’s kingdom
God’s kingdom is –”No Country for Old Men”
