Impression and Thoughts for 2018

12-30-17 Impression

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any double edged sword; it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

This is a time when I am testing motives and attitudes of my people. It is important to have the right intentions towards my kingdom. Many have been building their own houses while mine remains in shambles. Prepare for a great harvest. Many people will be hungry to know the gospel and be saved as I shake the earth of the things that can be shaken so that what remains will be firm and steadfast. Share your belongings with others so that I may share with you and you will become a channel of provision and blessing. Put first things first. It is a time to shore up your sons-point the way to their freedom. I will be with you.

God has been speaking to me lately about His time frame being different than our own. I was reading an article by Os Hillman today called “Positioning” and he had a good point. “For years, I spent time and money seeking to position our company in the minds of our prospective clients. Although it would seem that is a natural and logical marketing function, I later discovered there is a dangerous flaw when we attempt to position ourselves by promoting our own attributes. I discovered that positioning is a by-product of who we are and what we do, not an end in itself.” I so agree. It is the same principle with ministry. There is so much media accessibility and opportunity these days that I was coached to get out there and advertise what you’ve got. I understand the point with that because you can’t go into a cave and hide but now I see it is really the cart before the horse. If instead you proceed in faith with what God has told you to do,  you become all He intends and He will make your fruit known and open doors as a by-product of who you are and have become.

A friend, Redeisha, stated it well in an interview the other day about the timing of she and her husband’s call to ministry. “We had to go through some stuff, leave some things behind, and even experience some failed expectations before the time was right to be able to counsel others! I believe that time is right for God to do all He’s promised THROUGH you now in 2018!

Phil. 3:7 But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. Press on to take hold of that for which Christ took hold of you! His purpose for you far exceeds former things you thought were important. In fact Paul calls them rubbish-any merit, advancement, reputation, material things. I have to tell a quick story on myself that let me know I’ve changed hopefully over the years! When I was about to get married in my twenties, I had a few material goals. I said, “Now I’m going to get a fur!” How funny that seems to me now-meaningless! Besides fake fur is all that is popular now. That must have been my way of feeling I had really arrived or appeared so! Now I am just satisfied to know I can sleep peacefully at night knowing God has me and is my provision and reward.

Finally, Ecc. 9:11 The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned but time and chance happen to them all. Being at the right place at the right time can happen for any of us if we are following God’s will. We don’t have to be the most popular personHolly in fur-it’s not given necessarily to the strong but timing and chance happens to us all! God is no respecter of persons-let Him be all He can be through you this year and He will open the doors to His treasures and wisdom.
