Can’t Find My Way Home

Woke to this song playing in my head:
“Your ways are higher,
Your ways are deeperimages-2
All my hope is in you.”

A woman cried out in a memory care facility: “I want to go home! I’m sick and I want to go home! A man tugged on my sleeve in the hall and said, “Do you know where her home is?”

“No,” I replied.

“She has been lost for years and can’t find her way home…”

That profound statement reminded me of a line from a song of my era, “I’m wasted and I can’t find my way home.” (by Blind Faith) Is your life wasted because it is not being lived in a meaningful way? Are you lost? Are you numbing yourself to get away from the pain of being you? Are you trying to be who you think you should be instead of who you truly are? Are you sick of your present life and want to feel vital and purpose filled?

God is near to heal your heart and guide you home. His people are your family. Keep walking toward Him. Your eyes will be opened, you will be found when you know that all your hope is in Him…

They will be called the Holy People, the Redeemed of the Lord; and you will be called Sought After, The City No Longer Deserted. (Isaiah 62:12)

Good post Holly. Sometimes people who are “found” even feel lost.
